Emma Raducanu made it to the third stage in three of the four Grand Slams in the current campaign.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain will not compete in the last two tournaments in 2025 because of the illness she has been battling in recent days.

The 22-year-old had planned to participate in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but has decided to fly home to recover before starting next year's training.

These plans are set to feature coach Francisco Roig, as they have agreed to work together for the upcoming season.

Raducanu underwent blood pressure monitoring in her opening round against Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and stopped playing when behind 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She again required a doctor's assessment at the Ningbo Open this week, where she was defeated in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the opening round.

Raducanu was also moving far from freely in the third set versus Zhu due to the lower back problem that has troubled her at times this year.

These outcomes followed a positive campaign, in which she climbed into the world's top 30 for the first time since her previous ranking, finished with a trio of defeats.

She held three match points before losing to Pegula in round three in Beijing last month.

Raducanu won 28 victories this year and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami event in March.

As Britain's top player reached the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route then falling in a three-set match to the world number four Pegula.

She was coached by trainer Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in in time for the US Open.

The original arrangement with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was until the end of the season but the partnership will continue, with a training session scheduled for the end of the year.

The athlete revealed that her three-day trial with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

She nearly succeeded to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati during August.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round then falling to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
