Football Expert Chris Sutton Battles Artist Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
The Gunners' ten-match victorious streak came to an end by the Black Cats before the global hiatus, but can the Premier League frontrunners recover against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.
For the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.
Murs' new record, Knees Up, is available on Friday.
Soccer and Family Experiences
Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a footballer.
"{I actually played in a benefit game the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "My team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or son chooses to play instead."
The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.
"I won't force football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their weekend soccer team," he added.
"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.
"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our team for several seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their attack is already more potent with Pedro and Delap both back fit.
In my opinion this game will be fairly tight, however. Burnley are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.
It suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.
Sutton's forecast: 1-2
The singer's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3
AI's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have lost their past two games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.
The Hammers' sole on the road victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno was still that team's manager.
Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - will it be West Ham continuing their streak under Nuno, or the home side responding?
I will go with Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.
The pundit's forecast: 2-0
Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2
The algorithm's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign started, but they have surprised a several people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their past four matches.
A family member told me to get Bees forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
Thiago will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.
They have not had much fortune on the road this term, and Brighton are consistently decent at home. Brentford will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a threat.
Sutton's prediction: 2-1
Olly's view: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many goals but it actually turns out to be rather close. 1-1
AI's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six games.
Fulham have got lots of quality in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.
As for Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.
The away side's display in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not witnessed anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.
The logical choice would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the close of last month.
However I am not going to do that. Instead, I really need to continue opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive results because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.
Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be absolutely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.
Sutton's forecast: 1-0
Olly's prediction: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a bad streak... but Fulham have still been respectable at home this season. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0

It is a hard fixture to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but could they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
