Previous British Broadcasting Corporation Consultants Face Parliamentary Inquiry In the Wake of Claims of Prejudice in Leaked Memo

We open with questions from Tory Member of Parliament Caroline Dinenage, that oversees the panel.

She opens by providing context to the leaked memo written by Michael Prescott and released in a daily publication.

"I do not desire the British Broadcasting Corporation tilting this way or that way, I simply desire it neutral, impartial and fair," he says.

In response to a query if he believes the BBC is structurally prejudiced, he replies: "No, I do not. Let's be clear, tons of stuff the British Broadcasting Corporation does is top-tier - including factual and entertainment programming."

But he adds: "There is significant effort that needs to be done at the British Broadcasting Corporation."

A further former external BBC consultant questioned by the panel, Caroline Daniel, states she views the British Broadcasting Corporation very seriously and that it maintains a "ongoing system and lively discussion" across fluid and multifaceted subjects.

"Was the BBC ready to have a genuine discussion and argument and implement changes?" she reflects. "As I see it, indeed, they were."
