The Renowned Musician Calls On Backing to Get Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A charity drive is aiming to launch a traditional song from Palestine to the Christmas number one spot. The effort aims to provide aid to communities in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

An Opportunity for Solidarity and an "Unlikely Coup"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a moment to show solidarity with Palestinians this festive season. He remarked the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be fantastic if that came to pass, yes,” he commented. “I’m not gonna be completely disheartened if it doesn’t, festive releases are a thing unto themselves.”

Resilient Spirit of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the reimagining of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's resilient spirit.

“It occupies a profound significance for a lot of people,” Barghouti shared. “It’s basically saying that I would rather die in dignity than exist without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we want to live a dignified life that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Star-Studded Lineup

The track was produced following a large-scale benefit event held in the autumn. Initially planned to be performed and recorded live, the rendition was omitted from the lengthy event due to the event running long.

The notable list of musicians featured on Lullaby encompasses a selection of prominent voices from the scene. All took part in the earlier concert, which managed to collect a substantial amount for relief efforts.

Production and Release

Lullaby was produced by a team of talented individuals. The single blends a combination of the traditional Arabic lyrics with contemporary English verses.

The group managing the campaign have emphasized that their objective is to generate maximum funds for a charitable pot. These resources will be allocated to Palestinian causes through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We don’t have a fixed goal,” a representative commented. “We aim for the maximum achievable. Obviously, the greater the amount, the better. All proceeds are directed out to Gaza.”

The reality in the region was described as its widespread damage, with a vast majority of infrastructure said to be levelled or seriously harmed.

“In that context, a handful of millions is unlikely to make an enormous impact. But I think what does make a difference is primarily raising awareness for this issue and demonstrating the human dimension of the story.”

The track is set to be released on Friday. Additionally, a video of the charity concert will be made ready to watch on a major video platform from the 19th of December.
